Why we are building this
Every food guide to Dubai is written for someone on holiday with a holiday budget. This one is not. It covers the canteen alternative two stops from your campus, the cafe that will not move you on after ninety minutes, and the places where a student card actually takes money off the bill.
02 The plan
What eat & drink will include
- Cheap eats by campus What is within walking distance or one metro stop of each university, sorted by what a full meal genuinely costs.
- Cafes you can work in Rated on the things that matter at 3pm on a deadline: plug sockets, wifi, noise, and whether anyone minds you staying.
- Verified student discounts Only offers we have checked in person or confirmed with the venue, with the conditions written out rather than buried.
- Late night and delivery What is open after the library closes, and which delivery apps are worth the minimum order.

- Step 2 See the real price A cost band from what students report paying, not the menu's headline number.

Where it actually stands
Not built. The places-to-go directory on this site already covers a chunk of Dubai and is live today; eat and drink is the next dataset to get the same treatment, with pricing and discounts on top.

See what already worksAround most campuses there are cafeterias, bakeries and small restaurants where a full meal lands between AED 15 and AED 35, well below the AED 80 to 120 a tourist-facing guide will quote. Karama, Al Quoz, Satwa and the older parts of Deira are consistently the cheapest areas to eat in, and all of them are reachable on the metro.
The guide being built here lists those places by campus, with a price band based on what students report paying rather than the menu.
Some do, but they are scattered and rarely advertised, and a number of the discount schemes aimed at students in the UAE are really tourist cards with a student label on them. Our listings will only include offers we have confirmed directly with the venue, with the conditions stated.
