It is not a KHDA rating, a QS ranking or any kind of accreditation, and it should be read alongside those rather than instead of them. No university pays to be included, to be excluded, or to move. Focused on student-facing universities and university-level higher-education institutions with meaningful degree provision in Dubai. Executive-only or professional hubs without a conventional student university experience were not prioritised.

How many universities are there in Dubai?

Dubai has well over sixty licensed higher-education providers, but the number offering a full, conventional degree and campus experience is much smaller. This ranking covers the 25 that a school leaver or transfer student would realistically be choosing between. Most are clustered in Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Silicon Oasis, which is why so many students end up living near one of those three.

Why is there no single engineering ranking?

Because there is no such degree. Heriot-Watt University Dubai tops electrical and electronic engineering, and civil, mechanical, chemical, computer, aerospace, robotics, energy, industrial and biomedical engineering each have their own table.
